Boy Scouts hosting car show on Saturday
Spectators can expect to see classic cars, street rods, motorcycles, trucks, muscle cars, rat rods, sports cars and a lot of friendly faces.
Registration will be from 8 a.m. to noon, and the judging will begin at 1 p.m. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. There will be awards for the top 20 car show entries plus several specialty awards and Boy Scouts Choice Award.
Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 car show participants. The registration fee for car owners is free, but the Boy Scouts would appreciate a donation for their cause.
Door prizes will be provided for the car show participants. There will be a bake sale, a few vendors and a concession stand.
Safety inspectors from the National Street Rod Association will be on site to provide inspections for those who want them.
Music will be provided by Shadow Box Music from Pleasant View. Jerry and Marie Pickett have graciously donated their time and energy to make the day a better one.

If you only pick one car show to visit, though, it’s best to go big. The 38th annual Street Rod Nationals East show promises to showcase more than 4,000 gleaming beauties over three days at the York Expo Center , 334 Carlisle Ave., West Manchester Township.
Lest you think the show is just cars, consider this: In addition to the street rods, muscle cars and custom jobs on display, visitors will also find a vintage swap meet, auto parts vendors and free seminars for the car fans as well as an arts and crafts area, games, children’s activities, a model car contest, live entertainment, food and more for the whole family....

Car enthusiasts can catch a glimpse of the Hot Rod Power Tour, sponsored by Hot Rod Magazine, as it rolls through Grand Haven on Thursday afternoon.
More than 4,000 vehicles — and perhaps a few celebrities — are participating in the 17th annual trek, which departs Cocoa Beach, Fla., today and concludes in Detroit on Friday, according to Grand Haven resident Bill Tripp, president of the West Michigan Street Rod Association, which is helping with the event.
The tour will also stop in Georgia, Alabama, Nashville, Tenn., and Indianapolis, Ind.
The cars are expected to motor north on U.S. 31 through Grand Haven between noon and 6 p.m. Thursday, Tripp said.
The tour will land in downtown Muskegon on Thursday afternoon. There, visitors can view street rods, custom trucks, sports compacts, hot rods and street machines on Western Avenue, between Second and Third streets.
