I have a 1 year old and I have a pit bull, pit bull/boxer mix, and boxer. It is all in how you raise your dog, my pit bull is only 7 months and my daughter lays on him and pulls on his tail, he has never done anything to hurt, he just licks her to death that about it. Don't worry what other...

State won't consider ban on pit bulls
State won't consider ban on pit bulls Christine Ferretti/ The Detroit News
Grosse Pointe — A controversial bill that aimed to ban pit bulls in Michigan will not be considered by state legislators.
State Rep. Hugh Crawford, R-Novi, chairman of the House Regulatory Reform Committee, said he's not taking up the bill.
"I don't see any need for the state to be in the dog police business," Crawford said tonight. "It doesn't make sense to me. I have no intention of addressing it."
The state House bill introduced Tuesday by Rep. Timothy Bledsoe, D-Grosse Pointe, was the first statewide attempt to regulate ownership, possession, sale and breeding of pit bulls.
The act — targeting American pit bull terriers, American Staffordshire bull terriers, Staffordshire bull terriers and dogs displaying one or more traits of those breeds — was crafted after a constituent was mauled by one of the dogs, Bledsoe said.
If enacted, the bill sought to bar breeding of pit bulls a year after passage.

I agree w/ you Undecided. It says above that "even seemingly responsible owners...cannot control this unpredictable & inherently dangerous dog type of dog" True, but an owner, although aware, should respect the fact that their dog is more likely to attack and should not be able to have them in a heavily populated area as well as have to go through some specialized ort of Responsibility Training before they are allowed to possess one.
However, I think people need to be more understanding when it comes to dogs like Pitbulls. I think the majority of their aggression comes from the way their owns treat and train them, I don't think they're just born to be aggressive animals. My best friend found a Pitbull puppy on the side of the road, took her in and raised like she did her other dogs. She is one of the sweetest dogs I know; very well behaved and a HUGE cuddlebug. She's never even nipped or growled at anyone in anything but a playful manner....Vancouver pit bull lovers rally to protest proposed ban ...
A ban on pit bulls hasn’t even made
it to a City Council agenda yet, but that didn’t stop about 200 dog
lovers and more than 50 dogs from gathering in east Vancouver to oppose the
proposal.
They lined Mill Plain Boulevard with
their pet pit bulls – mostly, though some owners of other breeds joined
in to show support – and waved signs to protest a possible ban of
the breed.
The debate has been raging in Vancouver
since a 9-year-old boy was hospitalized after three pit bulls
attacked him outside an Evergreen Boulevard home May 23.
The incident prompted a neighbor to propose the ban, and members of the City Council said they would be willing to
discuss the idea. On Monday, the council said it would...
